COACHING CAREER: Jeff Pico is in his second season in the organization...before he joined the staff spent the previous 11 seasons in the Diamondbacks system, the last 2 as minor league field coordinator... was Arizona's minor league pitching coordinator from 2009-2011 and pitching coach at Class A Yakima (2003), South Bend (2004), Lancaster (2005-2006) and Visalia (2007) and Class AA Mobile (2008)...returned to Mobile in 2009 but in May became the pitching coordinator...his 2007 Visalia staff ranked third in the California League with a 4.29era and led the league in saves...his 2004 South Bend squad led the organization with a 3.81era...before he joined the D'Backs, from 1997-2002 was pitching coach for the independent Western League's Chico Heat...for 5 straight seasons from 1998-2002 the Heat led the league in staff ERA.

PLAYING CAREER: Was selected by the Cubs in the 13th round of the June 1984 draft and went 13-12, 4.24 in 26 starts and 87 relief apps from a 4-0 win vs the Reds on 5/31/88 became the first Cubs pitcher in 79 years to throw a shutout in his Major League 1995 and 1996 was a player/coach for the Western League's Bend Bandits.

PERSONAL: Attended Antioch (CA) High School...wife's name is Debbie...they have a 14-year-old son, Jagger.
