Zach Day pitched a brilliant game, but came up short as the Nationals, after taking a three-run lead in the top of the 11th behind a Nick Johnson home run, saw the lead evaporate in the bottom of the inning. Day allowed only one run over seven with seven hits and a walk.
In his first game since returning from injury, Ken Griffey Jr. provided a dramatic ending with an 11th-inning walk-off homer. Bronson Arroyo was again spectacular, allowing only six hits a one walk over eight shutout innings.
