Bailey -- who also won the award for the final full week of the 2009 season -- was nearly perfect against the Pirates, facing just two hitters over the minimum. He pitched around a third-inning error and a seventh-inning walk while matching his season high with 10 strikeouts.
The historic performance was Bailey's first shutout of the season and the second of his young career. He improved to 13-10 with a 3.75 ERA in a career-best 32 starts.
The 26-year-old is tied for second in both wins and quality starts (21) for the NL Central champion Reds.
The no-hitter was significant on more than a personal level, as it marked the seventh no-no in the Major Leagues this season, tying the modern-era record set in both 1990 and '91.
