Phillips exits with cramp in calf, expects to be OK

"It's all right. The knot is still right there," Phillips said after the game. "I felt it yesterday but I thought it was just going to go away."
Phillips, who flied out in the top of the fifth in a 2-for-3, one RBI afternoon, was replaced in the field by Wilson Valdez. He hoped he would not have to miss any more time.
"Right now, I feel like I can go out there and play. That's just how I am," Phillips said. "I'm ready to play [Monday]. I think I'm going to play. I think it's just something that happened this series."
The Reds open a four-game series vs. the Padres on Monday at Great American Ball Park. However, the last time he suffered a cramp -- previously in his left hamstring in early April -- he missed five starts.
One of the Reds' hottest hitters, Phillips has a seven-game hitting streak and is batting .383 (18-for-47) in his past 13 games since Joey Votto went on the disabled list.
Phillips is batting .300 with 12 home runs and 61 RBIs this season."I know he had a very serious cramp," Reds manager Dusty Baker said. "I'm hoping it's just that. When you're in this altitude and perhaps you haven't drunk enough water, that can certainly happen up here. I'm just hoping it's not too sore and he'll be all right tomorrow."
