Reds, free agent Rick White agree to contract
tickets for any Major League Baseball game

CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati Reds and Springfield, Ohio native RHP Rick White have agreed to terms on a 1-year Major League contract through the 2006 season.

White, 37, is a 1987 graduate of Kenton Ridge High School in Springfield and still lives in that southwest Ohio town. Last season for the Pittsburgh Pirates he made a career-high 71 appearances and went 4-7 with a 3.72 ERA and 2 saves.

The 10-year veteran has made 520 career appearances, including 502 as a reliever, for Pittsburgh (1994-95, 2005), Tampa Bay (1998-2000), New York Mets (2000-01), Colorado (2002), St. Louis (2002), Chicago White Sox (2003), Houston (2003) and Cleveland (2004).

The Reds will make a corresponding roster move after White signs the contract.
