    Following a 10-day, nine-game road trip, the Tampa Bay Rays return to Tropicana Field to host American League East foe the New York Yankees (April 17-20) in a four-game weekend series before a three-game set against the Minnesota Twins (April 22-24).

  • Rays, Escobar Agree to Contract Extension

    ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-The Rays and shortstop Yunel Escobar have agreed to a two-year contract extension covering 2015 and 2016 with a one-year club option for 2017. The extension, worth a guaranteed $13 million, replaces the 2015 club option. Escobar will contribute to the Rays Baseball Foundation during the course of the deal.

    ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-For the third consecutive season, every home run hit by Rays All-Star third baseman Evan Longoria will benefit the Pet Pal Animal Shelter, a no-kill, nonprofit shelter in St. Petersburg.
