CINCINNATI -- Second baseman Brandon Phillips was back in the clubhouse on Thursday, but declined to talk to reporters. Phillips was wearing a sleeve on his left elbow where he was hit by a pitch on Tuesday night, the only game he's started in the past five. He was not in the lineup again on Thursday.Phillips missed the previous two starts because of a sprained right ankle. Though Phillips reported via his Twitter account that he expected to be out five days with the elbow injury, manager Dusty Baker said Phillips was day to day. Phillips said he awoke on Wednesday morning with a swollen elbow. "He said he felt better after treatment [on Wednesday]," Baker said. "Soreness kind of comes and goes sometimes, too."
