White Sox on the mound: Jon Garland had his longest outing of the spring as he went 5 2/3 innings. Garland allowed a first-inning run, but then shut the D-backs down for the next three before he allowed three in the fifth.
D-backs on the mound: Starter Doug Davis held the White Sox to just one run through his first four innings of work before giving up a two-spot in the fifth. A bigger plus for Davis, who walked four in his last outing, was the fact that he allowed just one free pass. Cactus League records: White Sox 9-17; D-backs 15-8. Up next: The White Sox play host to the Rangers on Sunday at Tucson Electric Park with left-hander Mark Buehrle getting the starting nod against Kameron Loe. Meanwhile, the D-backs travel across town to take on the Rockies at Hi Corbett Field with Edgar Gonzalez starting against Rodrigo Lopez.Steve Gilbert is a reporter for MLB.com.
