Braves at the plate: Brian McCann drilled a solo homer to start off a two-run second inning, which included a Tim Hudson RBI single. Brandon Jones provided some cushion with a two-run homer in the sixth.
Tigers on the mound: Former Braves farmhand Zach Miner allowed two earned runs and five hits in three innings, and Chad Durbin allowed two earned runs and three hits in his three frames.
Braves on the mound: While limiting the Tigers to three hits over five scoreless innings, Hudson notched three strikeouts and threw 48 of his 74 pitches for strikes. Oscar Villarreal surrendered four hits and two earned runs in the seventh.
Grapefruit League records: Tigers 12-7-1; Braves 9-7-2.
Up next: Lefty Chuck James will start for the Braves on Monday, when they host the Indians at 1:05 p.m. ET.
The Tigers will send veteran Kenny Rogers to the mound in their Monday afternoon game against the Reds in Lakeland, Fla., at 1:05.
