Marty Brennaman’s signature locks are no more.
Friday night, the Reds Hall of Fame broadcaster shaved his head on the field before postgame fireworks at Great American Ball Park.
A few weeks ago, Brennaman told Reds bench coach Chris Speier that he would shave his head if the club won 10 straight games. Brennaman was a man of his word, going bald in honor of the Reds' winning streak from July 19-29.
Brennaman requested $20,000 in donations in order to make his haircut a public event. In total, $50,000 was raised for the Reds Community Fund thanks to the donations from hundreds of fans and sponsors.
