TicketsJoin the Reds on Wednesday, Sept. 16 as we honor Hall of Fame writer Hal McCoy before the Reds vs. Astros game! Ceremonies will begin at approximately 6:45 p.m. Prior to that, fans will have the chance to meet Hal and receive an autograph from him in the Reds Hall of Fame from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
The longest-tenured baseball beat writer in the country, McCoy is retiring at season's end after covering the Reds for the Dayton Daily News for 37 years. McCoy has won 47 state and national writing awards and also covered University of Dayton basketball and football, the Indianapolis 500, the Daytona 500, major golf tournaments and the NBA during his 49 total years with the newspaper.
