FOX Sports Ohio Redsfest presented by PNC Bank, benefiting the Reds Community Fund, returns on Friday, December 2 & Saturday, December 3 to the Duke Energy Convention Center (DECC) located at 525 Elm Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202. Over 400 Volunteers per day are needed to help make this event a success!
Volunteers may choose to work either one or both shifts, but it is crucial that they are able to commit to the entire shift(s) for which they sign up. All volunteers who are selected to work will receive a meal voucher, a $10 parking stipend and a ticket voucher valid for two tickets to a 2017 Reds game (Monday-Thursday only, based on availability; excluding Opening Day and Opening Night) for each shift they volunteer to work.
Volunteers will be randomly assigned a variety of duties including but not limited to: assisting with player autograph & photograph areas, staffing kids' areas and interactive activities (batting cages, carnival games, speed pitch, etc.), helping answer questions for guests, passing out bags and programs and other miscellaneous tasks. A volunteer t-shirt will be provided for all volunteers and recommended dress code for Redsfest is comfortable jeans and sneakers.
There will be a volunteer training session on the evening of Thursday, December 1 at the DECC. All volunteers are asked to attend this training. The Reds will not provide a parking stipend for the Redsfest training session; a parking stipend will only be provided for volunteer shifts on Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3. There are several surface lots and garages near the DECC.
Those interested in volunteering this year, please visit reds.com/redsfestvolunteers to register. Volunteers will receive a confirmation email after the form is submitted to let them know that we have received the request. If there are more requests than volunteer spots available, volunteers will be chosen based on past service at Redsfest, the ability to volunteer for both dates and the date they chose to register. Registrants will receive a second email in mid-November (no later than Thursday, November 17, 2016) notifying them if they were selected as a volunteer or not. All volunteers need to fill out this form; emails will not be accepted as a way to sign up to volunteer.
Finally, volunteers for Redsfest are not permitted to seek autographs or photographs from players while working their shifts; no exceptions. Any volunteers violating this policy will be relieved of their duties immediately.
(1) The minimum age requirement to volunteer at Redsfest is 16 years of age.
Another part of the Redsfest production is the assembly of more than 22,000 bags that will be passed out to all fans in attendance. The assembly of bags will be held at the DECC Lobby on Monday, November 28, 2016 - Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 9:00AM-6:00PM each day. Volunteers do not need to sign-up ahead of time for this task, do not need to commit to the entire shift(s) and are welcome to participate at any point throughout the designated timeframes. Whether volunteers can assist for 30 minutes or 3 hours, all help is welcomed and appreciated. The Reds will not provide a parking stipend for Redsfest bag assembly; a parking stipend will only be provided for volunteer shifts on Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3. There are several surface lots and garages near the DECC.
There is no dress code for bag assembly and this is an unpaid duty; however, it does count toward community service hours and it is also an excellent way to stand out and be noticed if volunteers are seeking possible future employment opportunities with the Reds organization.
(2) There is no minimum age requirement for Redsfest bag assembly.
