Have you ever wished to play Texas Hold 'Em alongside your favorite Cincinnati Reds? If so, the Reds Community Fund has the perfect event for you this year at Redsfest!
The fourth annual Reds Community Fund Celebrity Poker Tournament presented by Prestige AV & Creative Services is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 in Ball Room "A" on the second floor at the Duke Energy Convention middle. The doors will open at 3:30 p.m. for registration and side games, and the tournament will begin promptly at 5 p.m. The event once again will cap off Redsfest, which is slated for Dec. 4-5, 2009.
At the 2008 tournament, Reds prospect Todd Frazier won the $10,000 first-place prize and donated it to the Reds Community Fund. Rich Standridge of Riverside, Ohio, finished second to win $5,000 and Angie Weiss of Augusta, Ky., took home $3,500 for finishing third. Each table of 10 will feature a current or former Reds player, coach, broadcaster or other local celebrity. Plus, if you knock a celebrity out of the tournament, you get the jersey of their back!
