What is a Hometown Hero?
A Hometown Hero is a member (past or present) of the Armed Forces who is recognized for his or her service to our country at Great American Ball Park. Recognitions occur at the end of the second inning during every Reds home game. Each Hometown Hero also receives an official Hometown Hero hat and a Reds Hometown Hero challenge coin.
How are Hometown Heroes chosen?
Heroes are selected based on nominations received and availability. If selected, Heroes will be contacted by the Cincinnati Reds in advance of the date of their recognition.

"We're proud to join with the Cincinnati Reds again this year to honor our local Heroes. It's a privilege to recognize the service and sacrifice of our Greater Cincinnati families, friends, and neighbors." -Ted Torbeck, CEO of Cincinnati Bell
The Cincinnati Reds and former Reds pitcher Aaron Harang are partnering again to honor local military families with the "Aaron's Aces" ticket program. For all Sunday home games this season, the Reds will host military families in the Sun/Moon Deck. Along with the free tickets, families will be recognized on the scoreboard, receive concession gift cards and custom-made military style Reds caps featuring Harang's signature.
Harang played for the Reds from 2003 to 2010 and launched Aaron's Aces in 2007. Former Reds outfielder Jay Bruce sponsored the program as "Bruce's Battalion" from 2011 to 2016.
