As a relatively new non-profit organization, the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund is constantly looking for strategic partnerships and alliances. Projects that support the mission of the CRCF, while also raising funds and local awareness, are essential. One such example is the relationship between the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund and the recently completed “Bats Incredible!” public arts project.

Debuting Opening Day 2003, Bats Incredible! was an eight-month celebration of art, community and Cincinnati baseball, making it an ideal fit for the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund. The project featured more than 200 three-dimensional, freestanding sculptures constructed of dozens of regulation Louisville Slugger baseball bats.

Honorary Co-Chairs included Reds first baseman Sean Casey, former perfect-game pitcher Tom Browning, as well as the Voices of the Reds, Marty Brennaman and Joe Nuxhall. ArtWorks, a local non-profit arts organization, coordinated this community collaboration that featured local sponsors, artists and school children. The sculptures enlivened city squares and sidewalks throughout downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

The Cincinnati Reds Community Fund sponsored ten local schools and assisted with the “All-Star Auction” event at the Cincinnati Museum Center. The auction generated close to $250,000 for 76 area charities.
