Ed Smith Stadium, considered one of the finest spring training facilities in all of Major League Baseball, is the winter home of the Cincinnati Reds.
Ed Smith Stadium and the surrounding complex is owned by the city of Sarasota, FL, and offers a wide variety of available space. The complex consists of four Major League training fields, a practice infield and covered batting tunnels.
The stadium itself has a seating capacity of 7,500, and surrounding parking areas can accommodate 2,000 cars. Ed Smith Stadium has 6,500 armchair seats and 1,000 bleacher seats.
The Reds moved their spring training and Florida Instructional League operations to Sarasota in 1998 from Plant City, FL, where the club had trained since 1987.
